JAMMU, Nov 7: Army and police today busted a major hideout of the militants at Baiyaru Paddar forests in Dharamkot area of Bhaderwah tehsil in Doda district and recovered a large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosive material.
Recoveries made from the hideout included one AK-47 rifles, one 9mm Chinese pistol, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), 22 UBGL grenades, one 12 bore gun with four rounds, 11 AK-47 magazines, 1220 AK rounds, one AK silencer, three magazines and 15 rounds of 9mm Chinese pistol, four RPG rounds, 100 rounds of 10mm, 150 Pika rounds, eight Chinese grenades, 10 hand grenades, 11 detonators, two IED fuses and other sustenance stores.
“The recovery of huge quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives is in continuation of sustained efforts of security forces towards dismantling terrorist infrastructure and support bases,” sources said. Police party in the operation was led by SDPO Bhaderwah Sajjad Khan.
They added that the war like stores had been concealed inside dense and thick forest cover by the militants.
