JAMMU, Feb 13: Army troops of Delta Force along with Jammu and Kashmir Police today busted a terrorist hideout in dense forests of Bajpathri area of Banihal tehsil in Ramban district and seized huge quantity of arms and ammunition.
“The troops of Rashtriya Rifles battalion along with J&K Police busted a militant hideout in the dense forest of Bajpathri area in Ramban district,” official sources said, adding the hideout was busted after two days long search operation in the dense and remote forest area of Bajpathri, where the militants once used to have their stay.
They seized huge quantity of arms, ammunition and other war like stores from the hideout.
The arms and ammunition seized from the hideout include three pistols with magazines, 2042 rounds of AK 47, 25 rounds of sniper rifle, five hand grenades, five magazines of AK-47, two radio sets, one weapon sight and other sustenance stores, sources said.
The hideout was believed to be of militants who have been killed in the past by security forces.
General Officer Comm-anding (GOC) Delta Force has complimented the troops, who took part in the operation and commented that the recovery of this huge cache is in continuation with the sustained efforts of Delta Force.
