The moment American troops pulled out from turmoil and strife torn Afghanistan and the regime of terrorist groups of the Taliban took over the reins in that country last year in August , it was feared that since the terror groups in that country had been rendered unoccupied and inactive , it would have some impact in Kashmir in terms of some infiltration and smuggling in of some arms and ammunition from that country . Since lot many arms and ammunition even of sophisticated nature had been left behind by the withdrawing US troops , such weapons had all potentiality to be used to be clandestinely exported to some other regions including Kashmir. Of late, an increase in seizure of such arms and ammunition especially night vision devices and other equipment in Kashmir have to a larger extent corroborated such apprehensions. Earlier, during the Taliban regime in power in early 2000s, many infiltrators who had found some breathing scope in terms of some local conditions in Kashmir valley had been killed . About such a scenario and how the same was tackled effectively was shared by the Army Chief recently which further meant that more preparedness and changed strategies were needed to employ in nipping the evil in such a way that such infiltration by militants, support from other proxies and other non-state actors from Afghanistan were effectively prevented, dashed and smashed .
