JAMMU, Dec 25: Army and police today busted a militant hideout in Saranwa area of Kishtwar district and recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition. However, no arrests were made from the spot.
“Acting on a tip off, a search operation was launched by the security forces that continued for four days,” official sources said.
They said during the operation, a natural cave hideout was discovered and destroyed by the joint team of Army and police. During search of the cave, security forces recovered one revolver with US marking, four rounds of the revolver, three hand grenades (Chinese), one blanket, one pouch, cooking utensils, syringe and medicines.
Sources said the search operation in the area was still on but no arrests have been made so far.
“This is a blow to the terrorist outfits in the area, ” sources said.
SSP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas supervised police team in the operation.
