JAMMU, June 8: Army and police today recovered a consignment of arms and ammunition from a natural hideout at Sadda Nal forests under the jurisdiction of Kalakote police station in Rajouri district.
Troops of 63 Rashtriya Rifles and local police conducted searches in Sadda Nal forests this morning after developing specific information about the dump of arms and ammunition lying inside a natural hideout in Sadda Nal forests.
Recoveries made from the forests included two pistols, three radio sets, two anti-personnel mines, 20 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, three rounds of pistol ammunition, two hand grenades, one AK-47 magazine and other war like stores.
“The time recovery of the cache has prevented any untoward incident in the area, thereby thwarting evil designs of the terrorists,’’ official sources said, adding Army has been conducting relentless operations to ensure peace and stability in the region.
