Army Captain among two killed, Lieutenant injured

JAMMU, July 27: Two persons including Captain of Army were killed, while a Lieutenant got injured in road accidents at different locations.
As per police sources, Chander Dev Singh Hadda (28) of Rajasthan, presently posted as Captain, 20 JAK LI at Pathankote and Lieutenant Akshay, son of Sunil Kumar of Lucknow received serious injuries, when the motorcycle bearing registration number PB35U-1615 they were riding on collided with a divider near Kamini in Nagrota on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
They were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared Captain Hadda as brought dead, while Lieutenant Akshay was undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
In another incident, the brakes of a tralla bearing registration number RJ0705BG-1097 loaded with tiles, which was on its way to Srinagar from Rajasthan got failed and it rammed into shops near Batote.
In the incident, a local contractor Tariq Ahmed Malik, son of Abdul Gani Malik, a resident of Ward Number 7, Batote was crushed to death by the vehicle.
Tariq Ahmed Malik happens to the younger brother of PDP leader Arshad Malik who had contested recently held Lok Sabha election from Udhampur-Doda Parliament seat.
The body of the deceased has been handed over to family members for last rites after conducting legal formalities.
A case under FIR number 76/14 has been registered at Batote Police Station and driver of the vehicle identified as Shiv Lal, son of Ramu Ram, a resident of Govindsar, Rajasthan has been arrested and investigation started.
