SRINAGAR : An Army Captain was killed when he slipped and fell into a gorge near the Line of Control (LoC) during patrolling in Gurez sector in the north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said here today.
They said a patrol party was on a routine patrolling when Captain Prem Kumar slipped and fell into a deep gorge in Gurez sector.
Rescue teams were immediately rushed and Captain Kumar, a resident of Gujarat, was shifted to hospital in a critical condition where he died.
This was the second incident when a soldier died due to fall. On June 12, rifleman Ravinder Singh of 15 RR slipped to his death in the same area. (AGENCIES)
