Army changing lives of Kashmiris: Tarun Vijay

page5-1JAMMU, Oct 10:  Lauding the role of Army in launching so many good will projects for the people of strife-torn State of J&K, BJP MP (Rajya Sabha) and Member Defense Standing Committee of Parliament, Tarun Vijay today said that every Kashmiri Muslim child has dream to study in Army Goodwill schools.
Mr Vijay, who was on the tour of interior areas of Kashmir Valley and border districts of Poonch and Rajouri told Excelsior while on his return journey to Union Capital that Army is running 46 schools in the State in which 14,000 students are studying. These schools have a staff strength of 1000 teachers and other employees, he added.
The students studying in these schools are toppers and these schools get 100 percent results in their areas. This is remarkable thing to note that how army is changing direct lives of five lakh people in the Valley.  He said no where in the world army gets involved in educational advancement, youth employment and medical health of the people as the Indian army has got involved for betterment of the masses in the strife -torn J&K State.
Tarun Vijay said that Army is performing yeoman’s role by coming to the help of poor and needy people who are the worst victims of terrorist violence in the State. The army has become now angels for educational advancement in the Valley, he added.
Appealing the people to cooperate with the army, the BJP leader urged them to be united against the terrorism which has eaten up vitals of the State over the last two decades.
Maintaining that Operation Sadhbhavna launched by the army in the strife -torn State has brought cheers on the faces of people in remote and hilly areas who otherwise were living in the State of neglect and abject poverty,
the BJP leader said that he will take up the issue with Defense Minister, Manohar Parrikar and urge him for further strengthening Operation Sadhbavna which is changing the perception of the people and making them more patriotic.
He said during his visit to Valley, he found that people were highly appreciative of army’s role in the State as it is changing the lives of masses in militancy infested areas.
He said the people are so influenced by Army’s goodwill gesture and public welfare projects launched by it under Operation Sadhbavna that Muslim girls in Sopore in North Kashmir District of Baramulla, South Kashmir district of Shopian and Capital City of Sringar sing “Ae mere Watan ke Logo Zara Yaad Karo Qurbani” and Sare Jehan se Achha Hindustan Hamara”. This is a very good development and the students studying in army schools have pledged to defeat terrorism and work for the unity and integrity of their motherland -India, he added.
Terming it a remarkable achievement he said Army is on the path of success in changing the mindset of the people through the medium of social service and education.
