JAMMU, May 31: Panun Kashmir (PK) expressed its deep appreciation of the statements issued by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat which not only showed the intent but also the follow up action of the security forces involved in the ‘dirty war’ in Kashmir.
The cocktail of terrorism-Intifada stone pelting-Nizame Mustafa-Azadi is actually a ‘dirty war’ which needs an unconventional method and manner to fight with to obtain the required results, P K president, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo said while talking to reporters here today along with Prof. M.L.Raina, chairman, Political Affairs Committee and Virender Raina, national spokesperson-PK.
Chrungoo, said that the proxy war perpetrated by the Pakistan on the Indian soil in Kashmir is a matter of great concern. It has besides inflicting ethnic cleansing on the indigenous people of Kashmir -the Kashmiri Pandits created a huge challenge to the unity and integrity of the nation. The Azadi facade has ruined the social milieu in Kashmir to the extent that certain sections in the society in Kashmir have brazenly embraced ISIS theory of mayhem and destruction, he added.
He said the security forces have a big task in Kashmir and the statements of the Army Chief are proving morale boosters not only for the forces but also for the peace-loving society at large. PK extends its absolute support to the valiant security forces engaged in this “dirty war” in Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
Prof. M.L.Raina, said while it is gratifying to note that the NIA has started investigating the secessionist and terrorist leaders of Kashmir for their economic and other allied offences, it seems to be insufficient in the context of the crimes against humanity committed by the terror elements in Kashmir. P K reiterates its demand and makes an appeal to the Home Minister Rajnath Singh that a full fledged Special Crimes Tribunal be constituted in the State to go into the excesses committed against the Kashmiri Pandit community during the last three decades.
The NHRC decision and the observations made by the courts and the other accredited human rights bodies in context of the Pandit mass exodus in Kashmir should form the basis of the judicial review of the crimes committed against the humanity, he said , adding  all hate crimes, acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing should also be duly brought before the Special Crimes Tribunal. Besides PK be made a party to the official complaint to the Special Crimes Tribunal and a senior Supreme Court judge be appointed the Chairman of the Tribunal.
He demanded that all those responsible for the heinous crimes against the Pandits and other minority community members be brought to justice under the purview of the Crimes Tribunal sooner than later in order to ensure that the ethnically cleansed community of the Pandits is provided justice.
Virender Raina, National spokesperson-PK said that Panun Kashmir has decided to convene a Youth convention in the month of June 2017 under the aegis of “Panun Kashmir Youth”. In order to rope in the younger generation of the community in the struggle in exile, there is a need to inculcate ideological and organizational training to the youth.
