POONCH, July 8: As a part of Skill India Initiative, a “Computer Course” for 30 girl students of Mendhar town is being conducted from Jul 8 to Aug 8, 2019 at Government ITI, Mendhar, with an aim to empower girl students of the region.
The students from remote areas of Mendhar and adjoining villages have been selected to undergo the classes. The students will be educated about basic computer knowledge to include Operating System, Windows, MS Office, Internet etc. It is also visualised that in the long run, the skilled students of the state will further contribute the ‘Digital India’ initiative of the Government of India.
The course was planned to provide job opportunities for youth. All successful participants will be awarded with a certificate from National Skill Development Council (NSDC). The Army has aligned its efforts to the initiatives of State and Central Government and is focusing on conduct of accredited courses with recognised certification which shall help the youth optimally in utilising the opportunities offered.
In the opening ceremony, students were told about the syllabus to be covered during the classes and importance of computers in modern life. During informal interaction with students it was amply clear that the youth are looking forward to these classes and have desire to acquire computer skills.
