Srinagar, Oct 16: Army today said that it conducted a two-day long employment drive, a part of Home Ministry’s initiative ‘Udaan’ for graduates of Kashmir Valley. A defence spokesman said this was the fourth such employment drive conducted by the Army in the Valley with the earlier three editions having evoked an overwhelming response. “The candidates hailing from the area of Kupwara, Baramulla, Awantipora and Shariefabad availed the scheme by attending the telephonic interviews held at various Army garrisons all across the Valley,” he said.
The spokesman said that the telephonic interviews were conducted for employment of fresh graduates with fluency in written and spoken English who have passed out in years 2012 to 2015 for all India vacancies in the leading companies and industries of the country.
“The selected candidates will be given seven days time to join their assignments after the declaration of results. During the training period of 14 months candidates will get free lodging, boarding, transportation allowance, messing besides a stipend. On completion of training the successful candidates will get handsome salaries as per the Udaan scheme affiliated with Tata Consultancy Service,” the spokesman said.
He said that the candidates were very enthusiastic and participated whole heartedly in the one of its kind interview conducted by TCS and facilitated by Army.
