JAMMU, Dec 18: In its quest for generating employment for the poor and under privileged youth of Jammu Kashmir, Army conducted a week long recruitment rally at Akhnoor from December 12.
The rally was organized under the aegis of Cross Swords Division and invited a very good response of the youth. 23,714 youth, hailing from various parts of the State, turned up for the rally. It was one of the largest rally wherein youth from Samba, Kathua, Jammu, Udhampur, Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar, Reasi and Ramban participated. The huge turnout was not only a reflection of wings of positive change being spread by the Army but also display of keen desire of J&K youth opting army as a career.
Even the intense cold weather could not dampen the spirit of the aspirants who came in sizeable number from remote and inhospitable areas of Mahore, Sungi, Channa and Chasanna.
3384 candidates have made it in the initial screening test and are eagerly waiting for the written test being conducted on January 27, 2013 for the final selection.
