Army conducts sewing, knitting & stitching classes for women

BHADERWAH, Nov 4: Rashtriya Rifles, Bhaderwah  conducted “sewing, knitting and stitching classes for women “under Operation Sadhbhavana” for a duration of one month commencing, today at Chinta.
The event was inaugurated by Suman Bhagat, Member Panchayat Jalga, block Bhaderwah in presence of Om Prakash Kotwal, Sarpanch, Jalga and residents of nearby villages of Chinta. Women from social economically backward strata of society will be trained on nuances of stitching by Shazia Begum, Dugga with an aim to enable them to stand on their own feet and become financially independent and self-employed.
The project aims to bring about advancement and empowerment among the trainees by way of imparting them a skill which would help them to pursue an independent vocation and in turn make them confident and independent individuals. A total of 10 sewing machines are also being distributed to the needy women from economically backward strata who will also term post of the classes.
During the inauguration ceremony Om Prakash Kotwal remarked, “The Army has always been on the forefront in organising constructive activities for the locals, and we are thankful to the organization for the same. This noble initiative of organising tailoring classes for the under privileged local ladies free of cost will do them a lot of good to sustain their families”.
Army has been constantly undertaking variety of projects for welfare of people.
