Srinagar, Feb 29: Army today distributed 30 cricket kits to the students of five Government Schools in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A defence spokesman said the distribution ceremony was held on the sidelines of a keenly contributed T-20 Cricket match organised at the Wagoora School between Government Middle School Suthsoo Kalan and Government Middle School Kutipora in Nowgam.
Cluster Head Zone of Education, BK Pora, Nasir Ahmad Malik also encouraged the students by delivering a talk on the ever improving prospects in cricket career, the spokesman said.
“The principals, faculty and the student of five schools welcomed the initiative by Army which will provide fillip in the sporting standards. The event received an overwhelming response from the local population,” he added.
