Army enlightens veterinary interns through Equine Training Course

UDHAMPUR, June 13: Indian Army’s most credible event under OP Sadbhavana, the Equine Training Course for veterinary interns was successfully competed.
A total of 43 Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry interns of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu, were trained through this course in finer aspects of Equine Medicine, Surgery & management under the aegis of Sub Area by Advance Field Veterinary Hospital.
On this occasion, GOC of Sub Area appreciated the efforts of Advance Field Veterinary Hospital in augmenting the therapeutic and diagnostic skills of budding veterinarians of the State. He was convinced that this course would serve to strengthen the bond between Indian Army and the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
Offg Brig RVS, Northern Command, said that Remount Veterinary Corps has strived to utilize its presence in many remote pockets of the State in providing veterinary aid to farmers and livestock holders including Gujjars and Bakarwals.
Dr S K Gupta, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-J, addressing the ceremony, lauded the effort of Army in undertaking such projects which provide specialized knowledge exchange.
Other dignitaries who graced the occasion included PSOs of Sub Area and senior faculty members from SKUAST- Jammu.
Commandant, Advance Field Veterinary Hospital emphasized on invaluable understanding of Equine management and treatment which will enable young veterinarians to cope up with future challenges. Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated the interns on completion of course and also appreciated the whole hearted efforts of the team of Officers, JCO & OR of Advance Field Veterinary Hospital in completion of the project.
