JAMMU, July 7: An Army personnel was injured when terrorists opened fire on a security post at village Galuthi in Manjakote area of Rajouri district early this morning.

The terrorists managed to escape after finding the Sentry alert on duty.
Officials said the terrorists fired on the Sentry post of Territorial Army at village Galuthi in Manjakote area around 4 am with a view to enter inside and cause casualties. However, the alert Sentry despite being injured retaliated promptly.
The exchange of fire that continued for nearly half-an-hour between the two sides but the terrorists managed to flee into the nearby forest taking cover of darkness.
Army and police teams rushed to the spot and launched a massive search operation in Galuthi and surrounding areas of Manjakote to track down the terrorists but they remained untraced till tonight when the reports last came in.
Injured Territorial Army soldier identified as Rifleman Mahanad, 32, has been shifted to hospital. His condition was stated to be stable.
Searches, however, continued.
As per the sources, number of the terrorists was two and both of them were in combat dresses. They were believed to be the foreign terrorists.
There has been presence of foreign terrorists in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
Sources said target of the terrorists was to enter inside the Army post and cause casualties but timely retaliation by the soldier thwarted their plans.
Security forces have been maintaining a very high alert in Rajouri and Poonch districts in anticipation of the terror attacks.
