Srinagar, Apr 25: Army in collaboration with Civil Administration conducted an awareness seminar on ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ – a project recently launched at National level by the Central Government in Machil area of border district of Kupwara.
A defence spokesman said the aim of the awareness seminar was to educate populace about the various development schemes being launched by the Government and enable the populace to avail maximum benefits.
“During the conduct of event, Area Development Officer, Tahir Mouideen Wani, while addressing highlighted various development works undertaken by the Government and said various projects would be launched this year in order to develop the villages which include road maintenance / construction, renovation of public facilities and construction of school buildings,” said the spokesman.
Over 500 people from Machil and adjoining areas participated in the seminar and got enlightened by the Government schemes, he said. “A senior Army officer while speaking on the occasion reinforced that such development activities provide succor to the local populace and appealed to others to come forward and avail benefits from such initiatives,” the defence spokesman added.
