Army identifies killed militants

SRINAGAR, June 2: Army today identified the three militants who were killed in Nowgam sector of North Kashmir last evening soon after their infiltration.
The Commander 17 Infantry Brigade of Tootmari Gali (TMG), Brigadier Sanjeev Langeh, while addressing a press conference said that intruders had last week resorted to indiscriminate firing on “our troops in which three of our jawans including an Officer were injured”.
“Soon after this incident we had started a combing operation in the dense forests of Nowgam Sector,” he said adding that militants suddenly fired upon searching party and troops returned fire resulting in the killing of 3 militants.
Brigadier said that all the deceased militants are from Karachi, Pakistan. “We have checked their identity cards and it revealed their names as Mohammad Osman Khan, Mohammad Bin Hassan and Mohammad Shahwar all residents of Karachi Pakistan,” he said.
Langeh said besides three AK-47 rifles, one mobile phone, 3 UBGL grenades, 3 hand grenades, medicines, food items, one map of Nowgam sector forests, two Radio Sets and three pouches were recovered from the deceased militants.
The bodies of the militants were handed over to Qalamabad Police Station.
