LG Ladakh visits Galwan, says PM focused on soldiers’ welfare

JAMMU, Aug 25: Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) today said that Army and ITBP will take war into enemy’s areas if the need arises.
Addressing Army soldiers in Galwan Valley closer to the China border today, Mishra said that he is ready to take up the gun again to fight the enemy forces, if the need arises.
“I am sure that the jawans of the Indian Army and ITBP will protect every inch of the country and will take the war into the enemy area whenever the need arises,” Brig Mishra said.
He stated that the enemy forces are well aware of the bravery, courage and patriotism of the Indian Army and ITBP. He further added that the country is in the safe hands of the Indian Army, ITBP and other Armed and paramilitary forces.
The Lt Governor commended the jawans of the Indian Army and ITBP for performing their service for the nation’s security, integrity and sovereignty with utmost nationalism and dedication despite living in challenging conditions.
He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is focused on the welfare of the jawans of the Indian Army and other Armed and Paramilitary forces. He assured to provide all possible support to forces deployed in the area.
Brig Mishra, who was on 2-day visit to Galwan Valley in Durbuk Sub-Division of Eastern Ladakh also laid wreath at the Galwan War Memorial and paid rich tributes to the jawans of the Indian Army who sacrificed their lives on June 15, 2020 while fighting the Chinese troops.
He stated that the future generations will remember their sacrifices for the nation’s security and for giving their tomorrow for the today of the citizens of the nation. He felicitated the troops deployed in Galwan Valley on the occasion.
The Lt Governor also visited the Tangtse Garrison and interacted with the jawans of the Indian Army. He felicitated jawans of the Indian Army for their exemplary services.
