Army jawan among two killed, two injured in road accidents

UDHAMPUR/REASI, Nov 29: Two persons including Army jawan were killed, while two others got injured in road accidents at different locations.
As per police sources, an army jawan was crushed to death by a rashly driven Army vehicle near Chinar area of Rehambal police station on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in district Udhampur.
The deceased has been identified as Sohan Lal (22 year old jawan of 41, EME Battalion), son of Tushar Kanti Maji.
After conducting autopsy, the body was handed over to army authorities for further handling over the same to the family members of the deceased.
A case in this regard has been registered at Rehambal police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a labourer was crushed under the wheels of a tractor (JK20-1840) at Katra in district Reasi. The deceased has been identified as Shantu Ban, son of Samaroo, a resident of Chattisgarh.
Katra police has taken cognizance in this regard.
In another incident, two persons including a girl got seriously injured, when the motorcycle (JKO2AF-4128), they were riding on was hit by an unknown vehicle at Dhar Road in district Udhampur.
The injured were rushed to DH Udhampur, from where they were later referred to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment.
The victims have been identified as Naresh Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Hardyas and Parul Rajput, son of Raju, a resident of Domail.
Udhampur police has registered a case in this regard and investigation started.
