Army jawan commits suicide

Srinagar, Jan 28: An Army jawan today committed suicide in North Kashmir’s Uri area by shooting himself with service rifle inside an Army camp.
Reports said that an Army jawan Tula Shankar son of Arjun Shanker of Maharashtra shot himself in the head at 34 RR camp at village Gingal in Uri this morning.
According to initial reports, the Army jawan was denied leave which forced him to take his life. But there is no confirmation of it from Army.
The body was later taken to Uri Hospital for post-mortem. Police have registered a case.
Army spokesman in Srinagar confirmed death of an Army jawan in Uri but he said that cause of the death is being ascertained.
