UDHAMPUR, Feb 7: An Army jawan was killed, when the motorcycle he was driving was hit by an Army vehicle near Rehambal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway today.
As per police sources, Army jawan posted with 13 JAK Rifle identified as Rakesh Kumar (31), son of Nak Ram of Malhar, District Udhampur, was seriously injured, when the motorcycle (JK14C-8649), he was driving was hit by an Army vehicle near Rehambal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The injured Army jawan was rushed to District Hospital Udhampur, where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation started.
