SAMBA, June 3: An army soldier died under mysterious circumstances at Maheshwar area of Samba near here, today.
He has been identified as Amit Kumar, 41 son of Vinay Kumar and a resident of Palampur -Himachal. He was posted in 25 Punjab Regiment and deployed at Maheshwar area of Samba.
Police said this morning he suddenly fell unconscious. His colleagues informed the senior officers of his unit who immediately shifted him to Military Hospital Samba but doctors at hospital declared him as brought dead.
Later the body of the deceased was brought to Distrct Hospital Samba for autopsy. After completing the legal formalities the body of the deceased was handover to the army officers.
The police has taken cognizance of the matter and started investigations.
