KATHUA, Sept 20: An army jawan was killed and six others were injured in road accident that took place at Sukrala. The accident took place when the army vehicle rolled down on sharp curve on Sukrala-Macchedi road.
The local people rushed to the spot and started rescue operation along with police. They shifted the injured to SDH Billawar. One of the injured was declared as brought dead and six others are under treatment in the hospital. The injured were shifted to MH Pathankot later on for better treatment.
The deceased sepoy has been identified as Ram Kishore of 15 Kamou. He was brought dead and his body is at SDH Billawar for further processing.
The injured included Anil Singh, 35, son of Manveer Singh of Uttarakhand, Gadwal, Paapu Jadav, 34, son of Rama Ashish of UP (15 Kamou), Bhupender Singh, 30, son of Jagat Singh of Uttarakhand of 22 Gadwal, Mahipal Singh, 42, son of Pushkar Singh of Uttarakhand of 22 Gadwal, Sundar Pandya, 37, son of Rama Swami of Tamil Naidu 202 Engineer, Lokinder Singh, 26, son of Mahitab Singh of Uttarakhand of 22 Gadwal.
After first aid at SDH Billawar, all six injured soldiers were referred to MH Pathankot by chopper.
