JAMMU, Apr 1: An Army Jawan was killed today in a road mishap in outskirts of Akhnoor town of the district.
According to a police spokesman, an Army Jawan identified as Baldev Raj son of Mangat Ram Sharma, a resident of Gharatal, tehsil Maira Mandrian, was seriously injured when the bike bearing registration number JK02BD-3740 on which he was travelling from Fawara Chowk to Khuga Morh, hit with a road side tree after he lost control over the vehicle near Army Hospital, this evening.
“The injured jawan was immediately shifted to Army Hospital, Akhnoor, where he succumbed to his injuries”, he said, adding a case in this connection was registered at police station Akhnoor.
