UDHAMPUR, Apr 18: A Lance Naik of Signal Regiment in Northern Command Udhampur today ended his life by shooting himself with his service rife at Signal Regiment barrack, here in the wee hours.
The deceased was identified as Lance Naik Waghmare Kailash Laxman Rao (37), number (TTC) 15395121, son of Laxman Rao of M Sahil Nanded Maharashtra, who was presently posted at Signal Regiment.
He shot himself with Insas under mysterious circumstances around 6.15 am. Even as he was immediately rushed to District Hospital Udhampur, he could not respond to the treatment and breathes his last soon after the admission. After postmortem, dead body of the deceased was handed over to the officials of Signal Regiment.
Meanwhile, Rehamble Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
