Army man’s bag stolen

JAMMU, Feb 26: A bag of the Army soldier, hailing from Surankote in Poonch was stolen from a local mosque in Upper Gumat area of Jammu City this afternoon.
The theft victim, Maroof Ahmed, son of Mohd Din, resident of Surankote town in Poonch said that he had gone to the mosque in Upper Gumat area, just adjacent to JMC complex for offering prayers today. He kept his Pithu bag in the corner and sat on the floor for offering prayer in the same hall.
When he stood up after few minutes, he found his bag stolen. He inquired about it from a few people but he could not find the bag. The solder said that his Army I-Card, Adhar Card, PAN Card, two cheque books of SBI, Army service book, certificates and few clothes were lying in the bag. Soldier said that he reported the matter to the concerned police post, but the ‘Munshi’ refused to entertain theft report, demanding affidavit for the same.
