JAMMU, May 30: An Army officer died under mysterious circumstances in Transit Camp near Police Head Quarter, Jammu.
“Lt Colonel Sanat Kabi (45) son of Lt Athnu Kabi, resident of Orissa (at present living in 213 Transit Camp), was found in unconscious condition in Transit Camp, Jammu on Tuesday morning”, a police official said quoting Army officials.
He said that the officer was immediately shifted to Military Hospital, Satwari, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. “Today, when his family members arrived here, his body was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and after postmortem, it was handed over to the family members”, he added.
The official said prima facie it appears that the officer died of some cardiac arrest as he was suffering from blood cancer. “However, inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC have been initiated in the case by Trikuta Nagar police”, he added.
