Army opens employment centre, flags off students’ tour

Srinagar, Feb, 25: Army today said it has opened an employment centre at Boniyar in Uri to inform people about the various employment schemes of the Government and private agencies.
A statement of the Army said the “Aasra” project, inaugurated by Maj Gen Anil Chauhan, General Officer Commanding, Dagger Division, will be e a community owned project.
“Under this project the community will be a part of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the various development activities,” the statement said.
Speaking on the occasion the General Officer Commanding complimented the people of Boniyar and Uri who had turned up in large numbers for participating in the project.
Meanwhile, Army sent a group of 24 girls’ students of Uri tehsil on an education-cum-motivation tour to give exposure to the girls students of the state to the rich cultural diversity and varied tradition of other parts of the country as also the progress achieved by the country.
A statement of the army said the 15 day tour named ‘Paigam-e-Aman’, organized by Kalapahar Brigade, was flagged off by the parents of the girls in the presence of all dignitaries
The students are scheduled to visit New Delhi, Lucknow and Kolkata.
