JAMMU, Sept 7: Army unit at Samote under the aegis of 15 Sector Rashtriya Rifles/Counter Insurgency Force organised a two day event under the name ‘Banj Festival’ on September 4 and 5.
The event included Veterinary Health Check-up Camp, Dangal, Horse Race, Tug of War competition and cultural events.
On this occasion NGO ‘Goonj’ distributed free clothes to the needy people.
The event was of immense help to the tribal Gujjars and Bakkarwals whose cattle were treated in the Veterinary Camp wherein the Veterinary support to the livestock was provided by Army and Civil Veterinary Doctors from Naushera and Rajouri.
A total of 3,917 animals were treated in the camp.
Village elders, Sarpanchs, Panchs and others expressed gratitude towards the Army for organizing such events.
