Army organises medical camp

POONCH,  Nov 14: A medical-cum-eye-camp was organised by Durga battalion under Poonch brigade as a part of  Sadbhavana initiative at village Degwar closer to the LoC today.
This camp was organised as a prelude to the 67th Poonch Link-Up Day celebrations. The support received from the civil administration and the locals for conduct of the camp was overwhelming and the noble initiative was inaugurated by Prof SN Khajuria (Padamshree). The camp was organised to provide general medical checkup and treatment for eye ailments and subsequent referral for needy patients to 150 General Hospital, Rajouri free of cost.
A team of  army and civil doctors including an eye specialist from 150 General Hospital, Rajouri volunteered to provide free service. During the camp, locals were also imparted awareness about health, hygiene and immunization schemes through a medical exhibition.
Nearly, 400 people were administered free check-up and referral. Out of this, a number of patients have been nominated to undergo cataract surgery free of cost next month at 150 General Hospital.
