Army organises medical camp

Srinagar, May 18: Army today organized a free medical camp at Government Girls High School in Waliwar in collaboration with Tehsil administration of Lar in the Ganderbal district.
A defence spokesman said a team of doctors from Army and PHC Lar including two lady doctors provided free consultation and medicines. “The doctors also delivered talks on health education issues such as personal hygiene, nutrition, small family norms, maternal and child care,” he said.
Over 700 people from remote villages of Waliwar, Tsuntwaliwar, Rangalam and Chanthan Gulabpura participated in the camp and availed free medical services, the spokesman said, adding that on the sidelines of the medical camp, youth of the area were educated on various employment opportunities available.
“A CSD outlet was also provided for the people at the camp site which was extensively utilized by the people,” he added.
