Army organises mega ex-servicemen rally

BHADARWAH, July 29: Army’s 4 Rashtriya Rifles today organised a mega ex-servicemen rally at Sarna near here.
Over 100 ex-servicemen, war veterans, disabled soldiers, war widows, gallantry award winners and family members of ex-servicemen from different areas of district Doda attended the rally to register their grievances for which on-spot redressal was facilitated.
Issues of pension, healthcare, re-employment etc were dealt in the camp.
Colonel D.D Pandey, Commanding Officer 4 Rashtriya Rifles chaired the event while his 2nd in Command, officers of the Battalion and President District Sainik Board interacted with the veterans and enlightened the gathering about various schemes and programmes for the ex-servicemen and their families.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commanding Officer said that army will always take care of the war veterans, ex-servicemen and their families and redressal their issues will always remain the top priority of army.
A medical check-up camp was also conducted on the occasion and free medicines were distributed to the ex-servicemen and their family members.
