Army organises T-20 Cricket Championship at Damana Military Station

JAMMU, Oct 7: Based on the lines of the much popular Indian Premier League (IPL), the Indian Army has stepped forward to organise a similar tournament named, “Jagruk Hindustani Premier Cricket League” (JHPCL) in Muthi-Damana, which is being conducted by  Chenab Brigade (local formation) of the Indian Army for the youths of Muthi-Damana, Gajansoo, Makwal, Chak-Gangu and Pargwal.
A total of 8 teams from different regions are participating to represent their own strength. These matches are being played among themselves and winner team will be fielded for the “Super Six” series which will be played at ‘Zorawar Stadium’ at Sunjuwan Military Station from Oct 16, 2015 onwards.
On this occasion, Commander Chenab Brigade interacted with players, team managers and organisers to overview the conduct of the tournament. He appreciated the arrangements, conduct and enthusiastic participation of local youths from different border areas.
