Army organizes career counseling, entrepreneurship programme

SRINAGAR, Apr 26: Army today organized a career counseling and entrepreneurship programme at Holy Mission School in Narbal area of Budgam district.
A police spokesman said the programme was organised to educate the youth of Narbal and adjoining area on the various Government initiatives and schemes offered for youth through JKEDI & J&K Bank.
“The proceeding commenced with an address by Commander, Army Garrison, Hyderbaig, Brigadier SH Naqvi. In the address, he highlighted the ongoing efforts by Army to create awareness amongst the youth of Kashmir on employment opportunities available in the Valley and giving the right guidance for career options,” the spokesman said.
He according to the spokesman also expressed satisfaction at the enthusiastic response of the locals to exploit such efforts by the Army.”The programme was attended and witnessed by hundreds of enthusiastic students and young men of the area and included interactive sessions by a number of dignitaries from various fields,” he said.
The spokesman said a joint team of doctors from Army and civil administration including lady medicos, nursing assistants and paramedics simultaneously conducted a medical camp at the venue.
“Many stalls were also established to spread awareness amongst the youth on career opportunities in Army, Police and CAPF. The forthcoming recruitment rallies at Bandipora on June 11, Anantnag on June 17 were also given due publicity. Stalls for enquiry and registration were also put up by the representative of JKEDI (Project UDAAN) and J&K Bank. Over 300 youth got themselves enrolled for the same,” the spokesman added.
