Army organizes educational tour for Banihal students

JAMMU, July 20: Under Operation Sadbhavana, an educational-cum-motivational tour for the students from far flung areas of Banihal, Ramban district was flagged off by the General Officer Commanding, Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) from Batote, today. The tour comprising 23 students and two teachers has been organized by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta), for the duration of ten days from July 20  to 29, 2013 to Ajmer, Bhilware, Jaipur, Agra and Fatehpur Sikri.
The aim of the tour is to showcase the development of the country to the youth from the remote and far flung rural areas  as also to provide them an opportunity to visit important places of interest and to interact with the people of those regions and also eminent personalities, thereby widening their horizon.
During the tour, students will get an opportunity to visit places of interest like Taj Mahal and Agra Fort at Agra, Buland Darwaja at Fatehpur Sikri, Itmad-ud-Daulan Tomb, Jama Masjid, Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti Derga, Pushkar, Anna Sagar at Ajmer and some historic monuments at Jaipur. The children will also have an opportunity to participate in parasailing and water sports adventure activity at Agra.
During the impressive flag off ceremony, GOC, Delta Force interacted with the children and teachers and expressed the hope that the excursion would leave a memorable imprint on their minds and provide them an ideal opportunity to witness the infrastructural development and the secular social fabric of the country.
