Srinagar, Feb 9: Army organized a medical camp at Sirahom Village of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district under the aegis of Chinar Corps.
A defence spokesman said the locals of all age groups turned up in large number to utilize the medical services.
“A joint team of six doctors from army and civil administration conducted the camp and rendered medical services to 225 males, 175 females and 130 children. Medicines were distributed to the villagers free of cost. Refreshment and free transportation was also organised for the population who had come from far flung areas,” he said.
The team of doctors also educated the villagers on health, hygiene and first aid life saving skills, he said, adding that the medical camp received an overwhelming response from local population. “The camp was aimed at providing medical facilities at the door steps of people residing in far flung areas,” the defence spokesman added.
