Army organizes National Integration Tour for remote area students

RAJOURI, Nov 26: A Nat-ional Integration Tour was organized by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Romeo Force for 23 students and two teachers, belonging to far flung and underdeveloped areas of Rajouri district to Jammu and Delhi.
The tour was flagged in yesterday at Saaj. The jubilant students and accompanying teachers were received at an impressive ceremony organized at Saaj where a large number of civil dignitaries and Army personal were also present.
During their visit on tour to Jammu and Delhi from November 18 to 24, the students had an opportunity to visit prestigious educational institutes like A PEE JAY School, KV RK Puram, APS Dhaula Kuan and recreational places like Delhi Zoo and Delhi Haat, Historical Monuments like Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Nehru Planetarium, Indira Gandhi National Museum and India Gate. The students also got an opportunity to take a metro ride and watch a movie at PVR in Delhi.
The education tour gave a unique opportunity and exposure to the young boys to the rapid developments taking place in other parts of the country. Incidentally most of the boys had never been out of Rajouri district boundaries before.
A number of prominent citizens were also present on the occasion of flagging in ceremony and they interacted with the children who shared their experiences. The excitement of children, on being shown a different world far from their villages, was palpable. Mementos to students and gifts to their parents were distributed during the ceremony.
