JAMMU, Apr 15: Hundreds of youth participated in the recruitment rally of porters organized by Indian Army in the open field, near Akhnoor town today.
The recruitment process of youth coming from different districts of the region continued throughout the day today on the first day of the three-day exercise.
During the recruitment of porters, at the field located on Akhnoor-Rajouri Road at village Tanda, the Army officers on Tuesday measured the physical fitness, running capacity and recorded other procedures and field activities of the youth who came for recruitment. The recruitment process will run from 15 to 17 April. For different districts, the youth have been given different dates to control the rush.
Despite scorching heat, hundreds of youth gathered outside the recruitment centre. Local police personnel were also deployed to control the crowd along with the soldiers. Due to the large crowd, the police had to face a lot of difficulties.
Ravi Kumar, the recruiter, said that a large number of youth have come to participate in the porter recruitment process. Due to the large number of youth outside the recruitment centre, a lot of trouble is being faced.
A youth, Rohan Sharma at the Centre said that for the porter’s recruitment process, one has to work hard to pass the test.
