Srinagar, Mar 27: A social welfare programme was organised by Army for the children of Al Muzamil Welfare Trust in Lawaypora area today on city outskirts.
A defence spokesman said the Trust is currently looking after 46 children of different age groups and are in need of basic necessities. “Responding to the request from the Trustees to help, the army distributed blankets, pillows and mattresses to the institution,” he said.
He said that the initiative was well received by the Welfare Trust and its chairman appreciated the gesture shown towards the needy children.
