Army pays glowing tributes to Sepoy Manjit Singh

JAMMU, Nov 7: In an unfortunate incident on November 6, Indian Army lost a brave soldier when Sepoy Manjit Singh hailing from village Bhatuna of Thathri tehsil in Doda district sustained critical injuries while performing sentry duty as he fell down 70 feet due to a land slide while on operational duty at a remote post.
Sepoy Manjit Singh, 32, was evacuated to Batote but succumbed to his injuries enroute. The brave soldier is survived by his wife, son aged three years and daughter aged five months. The Army paid homage to Late Sepoy Manjit Singh with full military honour at Dharmund in the presence of officials of military and civil administration including General Officer Commanding, Delta Force, District Commissioner, Ramban and relatives of the deceased soldier. All ranks of Dharmund Garrison joined in to bid farewell to the departed soul.
In his condolence message General Officer Commanding, Delta Force stated that the Army is proud of the sacrifice of the brave soldier and assumes full responsibility for ensuring best possible lifelong care and concern for the bereaved family as per best traditions of Indian Army.
