RAJOURI, Mar 19: Police has booked an Army jawan and his family members for demanding dowry.
According to SHO Yash Paul Singh Jamwal, a married girl from Jawahar Nagar lodged a written complaint with police station Rajouri that her husband along with his father and sister demands dowry by harassing and beating her mercilessly.
He added that acting on the complaint, a case under FIR number 132/15 under Section 498-A RPC was registered against complainants husband namely Namneet Sharma, son of Kali Dass, a resident of Jawahar Nagar, who is posted with Assam Rifles, his father namely Kali Dass and his sister Shallu Sharma.
All the persons against whom the case has been registered were called for questioning by police, he added.
