DODA, Apr 21: Army personnel have prevented a lady from committing suicide.
As per police sources, today at around 2:30 pm, army persons deployed at Military vehicle check post Sewa Bridge saw a lady trying to commit suicide by jumping into the Chenab river from the Sewa bridge.
As the lady started throwing her sweater and stoll in the water from the bridge, army persons of 10 Rashtriya Rifles deployed at Sewa Bridge immediately ran and hold the lady as she was climbing the railings of Sewa Bridge to jump into the Chenab river.
On being inquired, the lady informed that she was married to Mahboob Ahmed a resident of Village Sirsu Khankot around five months back and also alleged that her in-laws are demanding dowry and are physically and mentally harassing her so she tried to end her life.
Later, the army personnel handed over the lady to Police Station Doda.
