Army provides assistance to Nyoma villagers

LEH,  Aug 11:  A  “Sadbhavana rally”  was organized by Army’s Trishul  Division  at  Nyoma in district  Leh.
The event was organized to connect with the people of  this sub region in Ladakh and hand over items and projects under operation Sadbhavana to the people of Changthang  region.
GOC 14 Corps and GOC Trishul Division graced the occasion.    A very large number of villagers from nearly  20 villages attended the function, including Reeboos, a nomadic tribe of Ladakh.
Operation Sadbhavana items like tents, kitchen  and  furniture items, solar street lights, solar lanterns and solar water heaters were handed over by the GOC 14 Corps during the event. The beneficiary villages are Kungyam, Liktse, Tarchit, Nyoma, Nyoma TR, Samad Rokchen, Sumdho, Dungti, Hanle, Koyul, Puga and Demchok.
Speaking on the occasion, the GOC reiterated the commitment of the Army in upliftment and amelioration of living conditions of the people of Eastern Ladakh. He also expressed his confidence in the bond of friendship between the people of South Eastern Ladakh and the Army.
The event also saw a variety of cultural programme by the Army as well as the villagers. The villagers were very appreciative of the Army for the exemplary effort put in for the development of the region.
