JAMMU, May 21: Army today thwarted attempt by a militant of Mendhar to return from the Line of Control (LoC) from forward village of Deri in Mendhar sector of Poonch district this morning under the garb of Rehabilitation Policy.
Reports said the militant Mohammad Rashid wanted to enter into this side from the LoC at 8.15 am today. However, the alert troops didn’t allow him to enter into this side and asked him to take any of the four proper routes identified under the Rehabilitation Policy.
The militant was pushed back, reports said, adding he was trying to enter into this side from Mahroof Nullah from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Rashid had reportedly crossed over to PoK in 2009.
On July 23, 2012, three ultras owing allegiance to the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) were among the six persons pushed back by the Army soon after their infiltration along the LoC in Poonch district.
