Army pushes back youth after infiltration along LoC

JAMMU, May 21: Army today foiled an infiltration bid by a youth from the Pakistan occupied Kashmir when he tried to enter the Indian territory in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district today.

Mohmmad Rasheed, who had infiltrated into the Indian side along the LoC in Dilli area of the district, was intercepted by the Army troops and was later pushed back to PoK, a Defence spokesman said here.

He is believed to be a Kashmiri youth, who wanted to come back to Jammu and Kashmir under the militant rehabilitation policy of the government.

On July 23, 2012, three ultras owing allegiance to the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) were among the six persons pushed back by the Army soon after their infiltration along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. (Agencies)
