SRINAGAR, May 2: At a time when southern Kashmir is simmering with perpetual militant and stone-pelting unrest, Army today said that it ‘reached out to hundreds of people’ in Anantnag district.
A Defence spokesman said Awantipur-based Victor Force Commander Major General B S Raju today interacted with over a hundred locals including the elderly and youth in Larikpora area of Anantnag, urging for peace and progress.
“In an inspiring address to the gathering, the General Officer exhorted all to eschew the path of violence and strengthen the hands of Government agencies in maintaining peace which was the only way to prosperity and fulfillment,” the spokesman said.
According to the Defence spokesman, the GOC Victor Force reached out to the youth encouraging them to harness their true potential towards a brighter future for not only themselves but the entire Valley and country too.
