Army renovates Pampore school

Srinagar, Mar 5: Army in its commitment to facilitate quality education for Valley youth dedicated a renovated and re-energised Government Upper Middle School at Jawbrara in Pampore area of south Kashmir to people.
A defence spokesman said the renovated school was inaugurated by Victor Force Commander, Major Gen Arvind Dutta. “The school was established in 1974 by the joint initiative undertaken by State Government and Army. Ever since, Army has been contributing and supporting the school in all its endeavors,” he said.
“This time it was decided by Army to contribute in the field of information and technology, accordingly, computers, printers, computer furniture, rewiring of electrical connections, provisioning of computer peripherals and water purifiers were donated to the school,” the spokesman added.
He said the inauguration function saw an overwhelming turnout of youth and presence of civil dignitaries. “Parents of all students studying in the school and the teaching staff appreciated the initiative in providing a suitable platform for the education of the youth which will prove to be a benchmark for other schools in and around Awantipora in providing quality education to the students,” he added.
