POONCH, Nov 22: Army personnel rescued seven persons trapped in snow on Mughal Road in Poonch late last evening.
Official sources said that last evening a Tata Mobile vehicle slipped and toppled near Km 24 due to sleet on road. All travelling passengers in the ill-fated vehicle were trapped inside. Seeing this accident, jawans from Army post at Poshana in Surankote area of Poonch acted swiftly and rushed to the spot.
The Army jawans rescued seven passengers including three ladies from the snow clad area. Later, the vehicle was also dragged and brought on the road. The passengers were provided necessary first aid and refreshments on the spot by the troops.
The passengers extended gratitude to the men in uniform and some locals who responded well in time to provide the necessary help to the trapped people.
