Army saves life of child

JAMMU, Aug 29: Yet again the Indian Army upholding its values came to the aid of the civil brethren at Tai Basti, Mendhar and saved life of a one year old child, who had mistakenly consumed some poisonous substance.
On the evening of August 28, 2014, Nazi Bibi noticed her child in critical state who while playing had mistakenly consumed poisonous substance. The village being in one of the most remote area of Mendhar, locals approached the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Romeo Force deployed in the area for assistance.
Judging the criticality of the situation, the Indian Army swung into action and assisted locals in speedy evacuation of the child to nearby civil hospital in Mendhar where timely life saving medical treatment could be administered to the child and he regained consciousness.
